Found these murals painted at the columns of Nagtahan Bridge in Manila. The Bridge links Santa Mesa, San Miguel and Sampaloc at the North Bank and Paco and Pandacan at the South Bank. Before the bridge was constructed, the road ends at the Junction of what is now Legarda (Calle Iris), Magsaysay Boulevard (Calle Santa Mesa) and Lacson Avenue (Calle Forbes), the road ended there with a rotunda, decorated with a Carriedo Fountain now found at Santa Cruz. That place was called Nagtahan, from the Tagalog word “tahan”, meaning to stop. The roads stopped there before so Nagtahan.
