Incredibly Real Felted Animal Sculptures Resemble Taxidermy by Yvonne Herbst
German artist Yvonne Herbst composes stunning felt like animals from wire and wool. Featuring our favorite furry friends from cats, dogs, squirrels and other cute conceptions, Herbst composes the extremely realistic creations by stabbing into wool fibers with a sharp, barbed needle repeatedly. The stabbing motion creates knots in the fiber, which allow you to mold and sculpt the wool fibers into a variety of shapes.
The stunning taxidermy quality gives the animals an uncanny realistic appeal thanks to the meticulously sculpted claws out of limo and the glass eyes. With the use of several images as reference, Herbst beautifully captures the essence of each animals. You can find her collection in her Etsy shop.
