XANTHOUS

1. yellow; a colour like that of egg yolk, ripe lemons, etc.; the primary colour between green and orange in the visible spectrum, an effect of light with a wavelength between 570 and 590 nm.
2. yellowish.
Etymology: Greek xanth(ós), “yellow” + -ous (a suffix forming adjectives that have the general sense “possessing, full of” a given quality).
