Indian (Moghul) Jade-Hilted Dagger
- Dated: 18th Century
- Measurements: Length 37.8cm / 14 7/8 inches
The dagger comes with a curved double-edged blade tapering to a re-curved narrow point and the forte cut with a pair of raised ribs converging within a recessed panel on both sides. It has a mottled pale green jade hilt carved in relief, decorated with arrangements of lotus leaves and flowers, including a fan-like spray of lotus buds carved in the round over the top of the pommel. A closely related example is in the Al-Sabah Collection, No. 9.26, with a probably 17th century attribution to Hyderabad.
