Big Damn Geekery: The ten-year anniversary of the debut of Joss Whedon’s cult-hit Firefly is coming up on September 20th, 2012. Despite the fact that in 2005, the one-season series got itself a high-budget film, Firefly made it’s way through geek and popular culture as a reminder on par with Arrested Development that sometimes the world (and by that we mean FOX) just isn’t ready for greatness.

Once upon a time I had a cat that was so evil that it made me hate all cats. Then it died and I still hated cats. Then I met an amazing marmalade cat with crusty poo on its butt and I learned that cats are actually awesome. The end.

Colin Andrew Firth (born 10 September 1960) is an English film, television, and theatre actor. Firth gained wide public attention in the 1990s for his portrayal of Mr. Darcy in the 1995 television adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
